Synopsis:
Azar and her young daughter Nedah live a sheltered life together in a home surrounded by a canopy of trees. Their routine is disrupted when Nedah encounters a bird’s curious chirping, innocently repeating its cadence causing the trees that confine their garden to reveal an outside world full of wonder.
With Nedah’s wanting to explore this new world, and Azar terrified of what lies ahead, will Azar once again repeat her mistakes?

Producer's Statement
Like our Director, Ava, I carry the experiences of my immigrant parents and grandmother on my shoulders like many of our crew do. Five years ago, I desperately moved out of my hometown of Cairns to Brisbane to chase a dream that wasn’t mine. However, through turbulence, time, and independence, I acknowledged the journey I wanted.
Cadence is a story that many parent-child relationships share, and we can only hope it encourages the familial acceptance and support of our youths as they embark on the opportune paths that were painstakingly paved for them with love. With my personal experiences, Cadence was a meaningful project to be able to support as a producer, storyteller, and artist in creating a collaborative story that resonates for all.

As the Producer, I curated, organised, and managed the evolving project pipeline, schedule, and administrative duties for our 30+ member team while creating resource guides and overseeing feedback. Alongside this, I contributed to creating concept art, designs, layouts, backgrounds, and animation.
